Whether swinging a hammer at the construction site, accepting donations at the ReStore, helping with fundraisers and events, or serving on a committee, volunteer action directly impacts Habitat’s ability to serve individuals and families in need of safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Last year 140 volunteers contributed over 8,000 hours of service – a value of more than $100,000!

HOME IS THE KEY to unlocking opportunities for educational and employment advancement, health improvements, financial stability, the ability to age in place, and so much more. Every hand makes a difference and Habitat is grateful for the commitment of all volunteers, whether they help one time or once a week, for the first time or for many years.

We will be celebrating and thanking our volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week (April  16-22). It is their passion, dedication, and commitment to Habitat that keeps the organization growing and of course, building.

Habitat Cape May's annual golf outing is one of our organization’s major fundraising events. By participating as a golfer or sponsor of the tournament, you are investing in the families who partner with Habitat who are in need of affordable housing.

Play as an individual or get a foursome together for this better ball format. Not planning on playing? Please consider sponsoring through one of our many different sponsorship packages. The event attracts business owners and professionals from Cape May County and surrounding areas. It is a unique audience that will allow you to gain targeted visibility for your company, but ultimately and most importantly, you are helping Habitat continue to build safe and affordable homes.

+You: Redefining Citizenship in a Divided World with Dr. Richard Haass

While many Americans do not see eye-to-eye on every issue, the country feels more divided than ever. In our society, people increasingly define themselves by what they are against, rather than what they believe in. In his new book, The Bill of Obligations: The Ten Habits of Good Citizens, bestselling author and foreign policy expert Dr. Richard Haass calls for Americans to re-envision the very notion of citizenship and embrace the civic responsibilities required to live in a thriving democracy.

Listen to Habitat for Humanity International CEO Jonathan Reckford for +You: Redefining citizenship in a divided world with Dr. Richard Haass. This virtual discussion will explore ways to foster collaboration across divides and examine the meaning of citizenship today.

This conversation is part of Habitat for Humanity’s ongoing +You series bringing together experts from across the U.S. and around the world to discuss how housing intersects and interacts with other areas of societal concern including public health, racial equity, faith, and the economy.
